WHAT WE DO
Only Connect is a criminal justice charity, founded in 2005. Over the last 20 years we have worked in all London prisons and most London boroughs, in schools, probation settings and our base in King’s Cross.

Our work stresses responsibility, creativity, and relationship as the keys to desistance from crime.

Only Connect delivers the Love & Money Project in prison and the community. Love & Money provides through-the-gate support to prisoners before and after release, equipping them with the skills to make good relationships at home and at work.

Love and money are powerful motivators. The life most of us want is to be in a happy family or a good relationship, and to provide for ourselves and our loved ones through a good and fulfilling job.

To succeed in love and money, we need to succeed with other people, domestically and professionally. Research into criminal desistance shows the central importance of positive relationships, and relational skills, in the decision to cease a life of crime.

Key to Only Connect’s model is the relationships that form between our members - prisoners and ex-offenders - their families, and our staff and volunteers. We get to know their parents and partners, visit them at home, and understand their family dynamics. And we understand their experience of, and attitude to, the world of work.

GET INVOLVED
Sponsorship

Offenders are inspired by examples of entrepreneurial success - people who, through effort, creativity and teamwork, have seen real personal victory. Only Connect works with a network of businesspeople - OC Sponsors - who support Love & Money with their own time and funding. Sponsors meet groups of prisoners inside prison and after their release in the community.
Employment Partners

Only Connect’s members are frequently entrepreneurial, creative and rich in potential. Through our work with them they develop skills for professional success and the commitment to seek and sustain employment. We work with employers who want to broaden their recruitment - whether for work experience, apprenticeship or full employment - to include this large but marginalised source of talent.
Volunteer

Only Connect has always benefited from the commitment of time and expertise by volunteers. Whether that’s helping with our courses in prison, providing mentoring or opportunities to our members after release, or helping the charity itself with operations, fundraising or strategy - volunteers are vital to our work and themselves derive real value from the support they give.

Donate

Only Connect’s core costs are funded by our social enterprise co-working space. For our front-line work with prisoners and ex-offenders we rely on donations, grants and contracts from the public, from trusts and foundations, and from HM Prison and Probation. With more money we could do more work in more prisons and with more ex-offenders.
